Gift for a girl and first macaroon

It's monday morning and back to school and work for my first born and hubby. I am feeling worn out and yet it has been a simple morning doing a few odd jobs. Germs keep being generously shared around our family and finally I have succumbed, I always do ... at the end of the holiday! Not feeling up to much I decided to take my youngest boy to a local cafe to pass some time, hubby got paid a few days ago, so forget the budgeting for today! (please note, budgeting is very topical at present, remember I haven't had a real job in over six years.)

I had hoped to take some great shots of my boy's delighted face eating his first macaroon but it didn't quite work out as planned. As we entered the cafe they stared out at us from their display cabinet, in their array of pretty colours and straight away he pointed at a shocking pink macaroon. Minutes later as our waitress was bringing our order over to us, I expressed out loud about taking some photos but alas like mother like son, once that plate hit the table, he popped the whole macaroon into his mouth! Admittedly, they are bite sized but as he struggled to chew he surrendered and decided to consume it in two moves. I, at the same time struggled to capture the event but here is the poor attempt anyway. Oh and the heart shaped sprinkles on our hot chocolates were a wonderful touch on a weary monday morning! Here's hoping for more energy soon.
